LELAND — There’s no shortage of new fast-casual options in the growing Town of Leland.
The town’s long-awaited Chik-fil-A will open next week as the first official tenant in the Leland Town Center.

Newcomers have also taken the place of shuttered restaurants in existing spaces, including: Chingōn Taqueria in Ocean Gate Plaza (formerly Hibachi Bistro), Mr. Bagel Meister in Westgate (formerly Empire Bagel and Deli), and Islands Fresh Mex Grill in Waterford (formerly Gusto Grill).
All three recently opened in Leland and all have some local roots (as opposed to the chain powerhouse, Chik-fil-A). Chingon Taqueria is owned by the same folks that brought Leland Papi’s Chicken, Mr. Bagel Meister got its start in Wilmington and anticipates expanding out-of-state soon, and Islands Fresh Mex Grill also starting in Wilmington, with Leland serving as its fourth location.
Here are the basics on Leland’s new fast-casual options:
Chik-fil-A
Opens: Dec. 5 (Location offering free Chik-fil-A for the year for the first 100 people in line)
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday; 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday

Chingōn Taqueria
Opened: Oct. 21
Hours: 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday; 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday
