Joyce Speegle Burriss passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at her home. She was born in Hartselle, Alabama, the daughter of the late Clese Esther Garrett and Benjamin Garrett.
Her sister, Rachel Irving; three step-sisters; and one step-brother, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burriss was a member of the Leland Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Burriss; three daughters, Debbie Bass, Patricia Paffenroth and Deana DeHart; five grandchildren, Alan Stokes, Tonya Leathley, Mandy Stokes, Alyssa Rackley and Jaiden Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Hayleigh Summerlin, Madison Leathley, Carson Leathley and Mason Rackley; sister, Sarah Adkins; brother, Elton Lanier; stepsister, Ann Brooks; and many nieces and nephews she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at Andrews Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 22, at Andrews Valley Chapel with Pastor Roy Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Frankie Irving, Shane Irving, Donny Williams, Brad Rackley, Kyle Leathley and Tommy Burriss.
