WILMINGTON — Elizabeth “Betty” Andrews, 81, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Davis Health Care Center.
Betty was born March 19, 1937, in Jones County to William McKinley Andrews and Lillie Burkett Andrews.
Betty was retired as a licensed hairstylist and cosmetologist. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she was a wonderful cook.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Thompson; and brothers and sisters, Fannie Mitchell, Lucy Mae Jarmon, Alfred Andrews, Harper Andrews and Harvey Andrews.
She is survived by her children, Marshall Thompson, Pamela Ayers, Valerie Wiegman and Sean Thompson; brothers and sisters, Grace Griffin, Bruce Andrews, Clyde Andrews, Joe Andrews and Leslie Andrews; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Westview Cemetery, Kinston, followed by a memorial service 2 p.m. at Gospel Light Church, Trenton.
