Fat Tony’s Pub in Leland permanently closes, Wilmington location to remain open

Fat Tony's Italian Pub's second location, located in Leland, has announced it will permanently close after less than two years in business in the Waterford Commercial Center.

LELAND — Fat Tony’s Pub in the Waterford Commercial Center has permanently closed.

The Italian pub closed its doors today, with public notices posted on the restaurant’s doors and Facebook page.

The restaurant’s second location operated for nearly two years in Leland, after opening in October 2016. Its flagship location on North Front Street in downtown Wilmington first opened in 2003, according to its Facebook page.

Though the Leland location is now closed, Fat Tony’s Italian Pub in downtown Wilmington will remain open. Gift cards, coupons, and other Fat Tony’s mailers will still be eligible for a discount at the downtown location, the notice states.

A representative for Fat Tony’s Pub in Leland said that the restaurant’s owner will be available to comment on the closure in the coming days.
