Rebecca Balthazar Rawlins, 68

WILMINGTON — Rebecca Rawlins (formerly Balthazar), beloved mother, sister, and wife, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026. She was 68 years old.

Born on June 20, 1957, she lived a life shaped by quiet devotion – to her family, to God, to her work, and to the simple beauty of the world around her. She found her calling in nursing later in life, earning her degree in her thirties and dedicating herself to caring for others through hospital work, social services, and triage nursing.

She had a kind, generous heart, and loved what was unhurried and close to the earth – a garden, a bird at the feeder, a walk taken slowly enough to truly be present with it. Her faith was the center of her life, and she leaned on it fully.

She is survived by her daughter Megan, her sister Linda, her brothers Glenn and David, and her husband Rocky, who cared for her with steadfast devotion. She was preceded in death by her babies Zephaniah, Michael, and Sarah, her first husband Jon, and her parents Claude and Charlotte.

She is missed in ways words keep failing, but she is held now in the arms of the Angels.

A time to gather and remember her will be announced shortly.
