Roger Dale Flowers Sr., 67

WILMINGTON — Roger Dale Flowers Sr., born on December 19, 1958, in Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away in his hometown on May 7, 2026, at the age of 67. A devoted family man and a respected craftsman, Roger leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and faith.

Roger dedicated his professional life to the craft of welding and fabrication. His career included significant tenures at Arcadia Chemical and Fertilizer Company and American Crane Manufacturer in Wilmington, from which he retired. His skilled hands built not only structures but also lasting friendships and respect among colleagues.

Outside of work, Roger found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working on cars and lawn mowers, often found tinkering in his garage. In earlier years, he enjoyed the serenity of camping at Carolina Beach. However, it was his time spent attending services at Gibson Avenue Baptist Church and visiting First Advent Christian Church that brought him the greatest peace and fulfillment. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and his church communities were dear to him.

Roger is preceded in death by his loving parents, Willie Calvin Flowers and Daphine Causey Flowers, his beloved daughter Katherine Rhea “Tiffany” Flowers, and his sisters Judy Lewis, Wanda Kelley, and Marilyn Pusey.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Katherine Lucas Flowers; his son, Roger Dale Flowers, Jr., and daughter-in-law Angel; his siblings Willie Flowers and wife Donna, Jackie Furtado, Jeffrey Flowers and wife Teresa, and Renee Flowers. Roger was also a proud grandfather to Dominic Pope, Dyleik Pope, and Tyleen Pope, and a great-grandfather to Roman Cameron and Naomi Flowers. His extended family and friends will miss his presence and his unwavering support.

To honor Roger’s memory, a graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The service will be led by his pastor, Rev. Jonathan Rochelle, and his brother-in-law, Rev. Sam Hill.

Roger’s life was one of dedication to his family, faith, and work. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unyielding love for those who were blessed to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who take solace in knowing he is now at peace.
