LELAND — Dorice M. Flanders, born in Lewiston, Maine on September 8, 1940, passed away on May 10, 2026.
Dorice worked for IBM before transferring to Essex Junction, Vermont, where she worked as a secretary and later as a learning Center Administrator. Upon taking an early retirement, she and her husband, Bob, moved to Wilmington, North Carolina.
Dorice loved to do crafts which led to the establishment of a gift shop at Brightmore of Wilmington Retirement Community.
Dorice was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Melvina Collins of Lewiston, Maine; and her sister, Helen Weymouth.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Bob, of 36 years. Her special children, Thomas Graves and wife, Julie, son, Timothy, and daughter, Lisa Graves; one grandchild, Marielle; three great grandchildren, Laynie, Marlee, Broderick; and step-son, Casey Flanders and his wife Carlisa; along with several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name.
