Peggy Carter Moore, 91

Peggy Carter Moore (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

WILMINGTON — Peggy Moore, 91, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. Born on August 30, 1934, she lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and an unwavering love for her family.

Peggy was the daughter of Wallace Carter and Mary Westbrook, who preceded her in death.

Peggy devoted her career to nursing, touching the lives of countless patients and colleagues with her warmth and skilled, caring hands. Beyond her professional calling, she was a devoted homemaker and a faithful Sunday school teacher at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she nurtured the faith and lives of many over the years. For the past few years, she was a devoted member of First Christian Church. Her commitment to the well-being of others was a reflection of the generous spirit she carried throughout her life.

She was the beloved wife of Vance T. Moore Jr., who preceded her in death on September 8, 2025, after 67 years of marriage. Though their time apart was brief, Peggy carried his memory with her every day until they were reunited.

Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Fern Moore Brown and LuAnn Moore Bartolo; her son-in-law, Damon; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob (Elise), Rachel, Peter, Kelli (Michael), Mary Vance (Jonathan), and Gracie; and twelve great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy in her later years.

She was a woman of great faith, strength, and grace — a nurse by profession, a homemaker by devotion, and a caregiver by nature in everything she did. Her laughter, her wisdom, and the warmth of her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Peggy Moore — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, and Sunday school teacher — now rests peacefully alongside her beloved Vance.

Please leave memories and condolences for Peggy’s family here.
