In 1954, Matilde took a brave step into a new world, moving from Italy to the United States, where she would create a beautiful life and unforgettable legacy. It was in New York in 1960 that she met her beloved Filippo through mutual friends, and their life together became a story of devotion and cherished memories until his passing.
A talented seamstress, Matilde skillfully crafted garments that were admired by many. Her hands worked tirelessly, lovingly stitching not only fabric but the very essence of her care and dedication into every piece she touched. She was known as someone who was “helpful to the end,” a sentiment echoed by all who knew her.
Matilde had a heart as sweet as her favorite ice creams and sweets. She loved to socialize and share laughter, finding joy in simple pleasures like watching “The Golden Girls” or chatting on the phone with friends. In her youth, her spirit danced as lively as the folk Italian dances she adored.
