WILMINGTON — Shirley Whitehead MacNulty of Wilmington, NC died on April 11, 2026.
She was born on November 7,1934 in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late Kermit A. Whitehead and Martha Seigworth Whitehead. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1952, attended the Columbia University Presbyterian School of Nursing and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1957.
She is predeceased from her husband of 54 years Bradford MacNulty. She is survived by her two sons Bob MacNulty and wife Vanessa and Jim MacNulty and wife Karen, granddaughter Madison Morrison, grandsons Steven and Jay MacNulty and extended family and loved ones.
She was also predeceased from her beloved and constant dog companion, Muffy.
For several years Shirley worked as a Knitwear designer for several yarn companies and knitting magazines. She was a member of the Wilmington Woman’s Club for several years and served as President for years, plus as a District President.
