WILMINGTON — Burwell Joseph Manor, Jr., lovingly known as Joey, 62, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in the comfort of his home.
He was born on September 18, 1963, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to Martha “Jean” Manor and Burwell Joseph “Joe” Manor, Sr. Joey graduated from Hoggard High School in 1981. He earned his Associate Degree in Science and Respiratory Therapy from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, in 1985.
Joey worked as a Respiratory Therapist for more than 20 years, dedicating much of his life to providing high-quality care to patients at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was known for his humor, storytelling, and generosity. In his free time, Joey enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing music, and watching his favorite old shows and movies. Above all, he cherished spending time with his wife, family, and his four-legged best friends.
Joey is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joan Manor; his children, Joseph Manor (Jamie) and Toccara Manor; his grandchildren, Rayah, Stone, and Rexlynn Frymier, and Jaxon and Jameson Manor; stepsons Mark and Myles Newell; his brother, Thomas “Craig” Manor, Sr. (Toni), and Felecia Buck; and his nephews, Thomas Manor, Jr. and James “Riley” Buck. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Manor, and his father, Joe Manor.
In honor of Joey’s wishes, no service is planned at this time.
Joey Manor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
