WILMINGTON — Cheryl Beresis Lemley was born on December 18, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Hazelkirk near Monongahela, PA. Cheryl passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, after a long battle with cancer and she is survived by her brother, Paul Beresis and her loving husband, Mark Lemley. Cheryl was the love of his life and will be sorrowfully missed.
From early on she always had a love of cats that were always present in her life. She was loved by everyone that ever knew her because of her sincere care for others before herself. She enjoyed cruises and beach vacations for pleasure and relaxation. The cruise to Hawaii fulfilled her bucket list and was one of her favorites as well as Sanibel Island. She always had a love of plants and daffodils are her favorite and there were always indoor plants that she cared for in our home. Bicycle riding on her purple bike was one of her favorite activities. She is Catholic and has always had a strong faith and belief in the Lord. May she find a place in heaven as beautiful as she dreamed of!
To celebrate her life, the family received friends with a Catholic prayer service at on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28412.
A funeral Mass, followed by her burial, will be held in Monongahela, PA later in the week.
