Rebecca C. Pelletier, 97

Rebecca C. Pelletier (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — On January 23, 2026, our precious mother Rebecca Pelletier heard the words “Well done good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter thou into the joy of the Lord”. She had been waiting to hear these words with great anticipation and with her eyes fixated on going Home to the joys of Heaven. Most of all she was longing to be with Jesus and see Him face to face. A favorite song of hers was “Oh, that will be glory for me. When by His grace I shall look on His face. That will be glory, glory for me.”

Our mother’s greatest joy in life was serving the Lord. Early in her Christian life she was involved in Child Evangelism teaching our neighbor children at the Good News Club once a week in her home, using her flannelgraph figures to tell the Bible stories. She also served by teaching Sunday School for decades at Grace Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church. She served by tithing and giving to many Christian charities to further spread the Gospel. Rebecca was a walking testimony and to her it was important to share her faith with others.

Lately she had been saying to her family “I don’t know why the Lord is keeping me here”. We would tell her that the Lord will take you when he is ready. She was our prayer warrior, and we all still needed her faithful prayers. Her greatest desire was for her family to personally know Jesus as their Savior and to be reunited in Heaven for eternity. The Lord kept Rebecca on this earth for 97 years to share her great love for Jesus with her family, friends, and all those she touched through teaching and giving. Our hearts are heavy, but we are rejoicing in the assurance that our precious mother is where she longed to be, with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 4, 7-8
“I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”
