John Robert Anthony Cloutier, 65

John Robert Anthony Cloutier (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — John Robert Anthony Cloutier, 65, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center.

John was born August 10, 1960 in Berlin, New Hampshire, a son of Robert Edward Cloutier and the late Rose Marie Pope Cloutier. His brother, Thomas E.L. Cloutier, preceded him in death.

John was the heart of our family—a devoted husband for 40 years, a loving father to three children, and a proud grandfather to two. A man of faith, he lived his life grounded in love, service, and trust in God’s plan. John served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including deployment during Desert Storm, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage, sacrifice, and deep sense of duty. During his enlistment he also served his community as an AEMT with the New Hanover County Rescue Squad in Wilmington, NC and later as a paramedic for an ambulance service in New Hampshire after retirement from the Air Force. John went on to be a respiratory therapist for NHRMC for 22 years. Whether serving his nation, community or caring for his family, he did so with humility, strength, and honor. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and unconditional love. Though we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing he has been welcomed home by the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Christy B. Cloutier; his son, Joshua Cloutier and his wife Emily, and Christian Cloutier and his wife Cassie; his daughter, Tiffany Cloutier; his precious grandchildren, Ezra Cloutier and Remi Cloutier; his father, Robert Cloutier; and his mother-in-law, Jewel Bordeaux. He leaves behind a family who will continue to honor his life and faith until they are reunited again.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel, 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary Catholic Church, 412 Ann Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. Following the service, a committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Point Road, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
