WILMINGTON — Ronnie Wade Mintz, “Crow”, 69, of Leland, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 1, 2026, after a long fought battle with his health. He was born June 25, 1956 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Colon Edwin Mintz Sr. and Gertrude Benton Mintz, who preceded him in death. He was the loving husband, of 35 years, to Karen Lynn Burns Mintz.
Ronnie and Karen were blessed with a loving family of two children, son Justin (Ashley) Mintz, daughter Sarah (Matt) Mintz. Ronnie showed his great love for his grandchildren; Esmé, Micah, and Maeve. Ronnie is preceded in death by his sister Myrtle Mintz Savage, brother Colon Mintz Jr., and brother Frederick Mintz. Ronnie is survived by his sisters Margie Rogers and Audrey Mintz. Ronnie also had a love for his animals, Belle and Queenie, and grand-dog Tank.
Ronnie spent the last of his working years with T.A. Woods with a career as a pipefitter. He was a very smart and hard worker, and even in his time out of work at home, he always stayed busy. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed his time outdoors, and always had a tool for whatever project he found himself working on.
Ronnie was loved and respected by many family and friends. He always seemed to know a solution for just about any problem and was not afraid to tell you that you were wrong at doing something. He always made sure you knew how he wanted something completed. As a man of few words, he sure knew how to use them powerfully. Stubborn, hard working and strong willed, Ronnie always made sure that he did his best at anything he set his mind to.
Ronnie will be remembered by his family and friends, with the different stories and memories we all shared with him. He was truly a one of a kind man and will always hold a legacy with each of us.
