WILMINGTON — Rita Jane Patrick passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, after a six-month illness.
Rita was born January 2, 1946 in Wilmington to the late Oscar and Lucile Patrick.
Rita attended Topsail High School and was a lifetime member of Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was an avid cat lover and homebody.
She is survived by her sister Virtie Baldwin, nephew Jeffrey Baldwin (Monica), niece Sharon Williamson, great-niece Hannah McMahan (Bradley), great-nephew Nick Williamson, and great-great-niece Ellie McMahan. Many loving cousins and her church family, and most of all her cat, “Hercules”!
She had a special love and relationship with her best friend, caregiver and all-around angel, Diane Maurer whom she called cousin.
The family wants to give a very special thank you to her neighbors, Ruth and Jim Gehr for standing by and with her all these years, meeting all her needs with great love!
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 (her birthday) at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be at a later date.
