WILMINGTON — Rebecca Bame Davis, lovingly known as Becky, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 66. Born on February 9, 1959, she spent her life bringing joy and warmth to those around her.

Becky was adopted by loving parents, Robert Lee and Helen Elizabeth Bame. Her father was a dedicated Methodist minister who traveled the world for missionary work before settling with his family in various locales across North Carolina, including Goldsboro, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Pikeville, Tarboro, and finally Wilmington. Her mother, an elementary school teacher, nurtured Becky’s inquisitive nature and love for learning.

A graduate of high school, Becky furthered her education by attending some classes at the University of North Carolina. Although she held various odd jobs throughout her life, her primary and most cherished role was that of a homemaker. Becky created a home filled with love and laughter, where everyone felt welcome and cherished.

Her greatest joys were found in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the beach, finding peace in playing in the waves and walking on the sand. An avid gardener, Becky found delight in nurturing her plants and watching them grow. Music was another of her passions, particularly gospel rock, and she enjoyed attending concerts, including memorable performances by Little Feat and John Prine.

Becky had a sharp mind and enjoyed testing her knowledge by answering questions on the television show “Jeopardy!” She was also a sports enthusiast, especially fond of basketball, and relished watching games featuring Michael Jordan and the Tar Heels.

Becky is survived by her devoted husband, Charlie C. Davis III, and her two sons, Charlie C. Davis IV and Robert Lee Davis. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert Lee and Helen Elizabeth Bame.

In accordance with her family’s wishes, a private gathering will be held to celebrate Becky’s life and the many ways she touched the lives of those who knew her.

Becky will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her unwavering kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
