Terence Francis Waldron (Quinn McGowen Funeral Home)

WILMINGTON — Terence Francis Waldron, 85, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 15, 1940 in Knysna, South Africa, he was the son of the late Francis Roper Waldron and the late Muriel Molthene McLellan.

Terry was a devoted husband and father. He and Heather shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, a partnership marked by love, loyalty, and shared adventure.

The ocean was always close to his heart, and he especially loved spending time boating, including many memorable trips throughout the Caribbean. During his years in South Africa, he served as Station Commander for the East London Sea Rescue. He also had a passion for woodturning, creating beautiful bowls and pens that reflected his eye for detail and craftsmanship.

He started as an engineer with Johnson and Johnson and, during 27 years with the company across South Africa and Venezuela, rose to an executive role. He later continued his career as a successful international consultant and business owner.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Heather Waldron, and by his daughters, Kim Fincham and husband Grant, Lyn Uram and husband Eric, and Jos Waldron. He was a proud grandfather to Caitlyn, Josie, and Stella, who fondly knew him as Pops.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Peter, and his sisters, Sheila, Norah, and Mitzi.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington, with Pastor Dr. Richard G. Morrison, Ph.D., CLM, officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
