LELAND — John A Rogers Jr. was born on November 8, 1942, in Hemingway, South Carolina. He passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 83. He was a resident of Leland, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John Rogers, Sr. and Lois Sewell Rogers and a sister: Debbie Richards.
He is survived by his son, John A. Rogers, III and his wife: Lynn, his grandchildren: Erin (Cody) Parker, Matt (Amanda) Whisnant, great-grandchildren: Pistol, Memphis, Alexis, and Maverick, his sisters: Diane (Wade) Long, and Janice Brown and his brother: Jimmy(Kelly) Rogers and the mother of his child: Darlene Rogers.
He served in the United States Navy, raced dirt track race cars at Leland Speedway where he was known as the Boogeyman. He retired from Duke Power in Denver, NC. He was a long time member of the Freemasons.
