HAMPSTEAD — Marshall G. Jones, age 77, of Hampstead, NC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved one.
Marshall attended Langston University in Oklahoma and received a Masters degree in Management from Cambridge College Springfield MA. He retired from Aetna Insurance Co where he held management positions. Upon Jean’s retirement they moved to North Carolina where he became active in 100 Black Men of Coastal Carolina, the alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi (lifetime member) and the Two Times a Month (TTAM) golf group that actually plays weekly. His life in NC was filled richly with many new friends and he enjoyed their fellowship so much. Marshall was a devout man of God, loved to dance and sing and loved his family deeply.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Lutheran Church of Reconciliation, 7500 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28411.
His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife, Jean Jones of the home; children, Torrey Nichelle Murray (David) of Bowie, MD, Artesia M. Cumby (Clarence) of Oklahoma City, OK, Crystal Jones of Bloomfield, CT, Allison Brigandi (Mark) of Berlin, CT, Lauren Martin of Hampstead, NC and Marshall Davis (Dierdra) of Oklahoma, OK; siblings, Dinah Lowrey (Patrick) of St. Louis, MO, Curtis Jones, Alvin Nixon and Lorain Nixon all of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Kaila Lindo, Korin Murray, Bria Ballentine, Alia Cumby, Marley Jones, Emily Janeczek, Alex Janeczek, Catherine Brigandi, Jake Phillips, Michael Mahon, Devin Veilleux and Maddox Martin, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
