HAMPSTEAD — Claude Alvin Fountain, 82, affectionately known as “Cliff,” passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Hampstead NC on Thursday, November 27, 2025 after suffering from a long battle with a heart condition.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts January 2, 1943, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Professionally, he was a Stationary Fireman at Walpole Prison in Norfolk, Massachusetts.
Claude was thoughtful and kind. He loved to share a good joke, road trips, movies, reading, trains, computer technology, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carmella; stepson Daniel Ventura and his wife Stephanie also of Hampstead NC, son Claude and his wife Jennifer of Taunton Massachusetts; grandchildren Brandon, Jacqueline, Juliana, Justin, Zachary, Joshua, Claude, Mathew, Emily; great-grandchildren Brock and Mya; sister, Kathy Delaney; and beloved nieces Sherri Delaney, Laura Barton and Erica Meyer and nephew, Joe Driscoll.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, December 5, 2025, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1:00PM until the service hour. Burial will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park.
