Linda Spivey Rodgers, 83

Linda Spivey Rodgers (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

WILMINGTON — Linda Spivey Rodgers, age 83, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on December 4, 1941, and spent her life surrounded by family, friends and laughter.

Linda was best known for her quick wit and humor, which she shared generously with everyone she met. For more than 40 years, she worked as a waitress at Whitey’s Restaurant, where she proudly served her community – especially members of local law enforcement, who came to know her not just for her excellent service but for her warmth and sharp sense of humor.

Beyond her work, Linda found joy in giving back. Each year, she cherished the opportunity to entertain the surviving crew members of the USS North Carolina Battleship during their reunions — an experience that held a special place in her heart and reflected her deep respect for their service.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents, James C. Spivey and Ruby Lee Floyd Spivey; her husband, Frank Rodgers; her bother, Jimmy Spivey; her dear grand daughter Brandy Fearington; and her daughter in law Renee Rodgers

Linda is survived by her daughter, Jamie Rodgers Trujillo (Miguel); her sons, William “Rusty” Rodgers (Mitzi) and Neil Rodgers; her sister, Patsy Miller; and her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Her family and friends will always remember her laughter and strength.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Life Care, whose compassionate support was deeply appreciated by Linda and her family.
