WILMINGTON — Beverly Haylett Symons, aged 96, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on August 1, 1929, in Coldwater, Michigan, Beverly lived a life rich in love, family, and creativity.
Beverly spent the majority of her life in her beloved hometown of Coldwater. It was there that she cultivated her many talents and nurtured her family. Four years ago, she moved to Wilmington to be closer to her loved ones, continuing to share her warmth and wisdom with those around her.
A woman of remarkable skill and artistry, Beverly found joy in a variety of craft projects. She was an accomplished knitter, quilter, cross-stitcher, and rug hooker. Her prowess as a seamstress was unparalleled; she lovingly crafted countless dresses and garments for her family, including baptismal and communion dresses, and even wedding gowns, each piece a testament to her dedication and talent.
Beverly is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Symons, and her parents, Roy and Luella Whitcomb Haylett and her brother, Roy “Junior” Haylett, Jr.
She is survived by her three daughters: Marda Redditt and her husband Gary, Janet Symons, and Helyn Wisner. Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Brianne Hoff and her husband Mike, and Alexandra Wisner, as well as her cherished great-granddaughters Andrea, Katalina, and Piper Hoff. Beverly also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will forever hold her memory dear.
Beverly’s life was one of grace, creativity, and devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
