WILMINGTON — John Keith Adams, a compassionate soul known for his unwavering dedication to helping others, passed away on September 23, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Born in Washington, DC, John spent his life committed to service and community.
Throughout his career, John worked with the Southport Police Department, the American Red Cross, and Cape Fear Community Hospital EVS. His work was a testament to his humanitarian spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
John’s interests were as varied as they were meaningful. He was an active member of the EMS Southport Rescue Squad alongside Tom and Carol Flokiewecz, and he shared his knowledge as a CPR instructor. His love for the ocean and fishing brought him peace, while country music provided the soundtrack to his life.
A man of faith, John attended Old Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Society of Saint Pius X. His educational journey included graduating from Sun Valley High School in Union County, NC, and pursuing college courses later on at Cape Fear Community College in Hampstead, NC.
John is preceded in death by his father, Haywood Eugene Adams, Sr.; mother, Alice Marie Demers Adams; and brother, Eugene Andrew Adams.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Marina Adams of Wilmington; brothers, David Adams and Haywood Eugene Adams, Jr.; and sisters, Doreen Adams and Katherine Hamilton.
Services are not scheduled at this time.
John’s legacy is one of kindness, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
