WILMINGTON — Shirlee Donald Pressley, 86, of Wilmington, passed away, Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
He was born June 11, 1939, in Union County, NC, to the late Lester and Kamareta Pressley.
Don was a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather.
Don was a loving husband and wonderful father. He will be missed by everyone that has been granted the opportunity to know and love him. Don was appreciated for his long participation in the Boy Scouts as a Scoutmaster. Don also had a considerable love of flying. This love included getting his pilot’s license, owning his own plane and working at the Monroe Airport after he retired. He greatly enjoyed soccer, history, fishing, and going to the beach.
Those who will remember Don think of his kind nature and joyful spirit, as always shown by his warm smile and generous heart. He was known to care deeply about his loved ones and made a constant effort to spend quality time with them in order to create special memories.
To those who were lucky enough to encounter Don, they were always left with a smile, laughter, or a more positive life. He will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his Wife, Barbara; Children, Mike (Wife Debora), Rhonda, and Glenn (Wife Lisa); Grandchildren, Bryan Overman (Wife Lucianna), Julia Bennett (Husband Josiah), Amanda, Nat, and Madison; Greatgrandchildren, Sebastian and Nathan Menendez, Piper and Sunny Bennett.
Memorial Donations may be made to; Tunnel to Towers and St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
