WILMINGTON — Rosetta Lee Hunniford passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1939 in Cook County, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Philip John Hunniford, and her grandson, Connor Lee Hill.
Rose is survived by her five daughters: Karen (Wade) Laughon, Kathleen Cook, Jackie (Jim) Whitaker all of Wilmington, Laura (Ed) Paul of Wrightsville Beach, and Mary (Russell) Hill of Cary. She was the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Rose had a passion for cooking and was best known for hosting Sunday suppers that brought her family together. Her greatest happiness came from the love and time shared with her family, who will forever carry her warmth, kindness, and devotion in their hearts.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
