WILMINGTON — George Franklin Warwick was born August 27, 1935 to Charles and Mozelle Warwick. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha and his devoted son Kevin (Sarah). He lost six of his seven siblings during his life.
George is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his stepson Wrenn Cox (Jessica), daughter in law Sarah Warwick, grandsons Liam Warwick, Ryan Warwick, and his sister, Margaret Stanley.
His Christian faith lighted his way. He was a kind and caring man to just about everyone he encountered. His family and friends can certainly attest to his giving and affable nature. He will be missed by members of his Church (Myrtle Grove Baptist), neighbors, Gideons, and walking buddies. His greatest hope was for his grandsons to enjoy success in their lives.
He joined the Air Force immediately after graduating Lumberton High School in 1954 having served in Korea. He graduated Western Carolina University. The majority of his career was spent working as a manager in the insurance industry. He retired from Penn National and subsequently relocated to Wilmington in 2000. George passed away August 30, 2025.
