Robert “Ben” Bennett Kimble, Jr. (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Robert Bennett Kimble, Jr., 80, of Wilmington, passed away August 11, 2025.

Born to Mary Jane Bard and Robert Bennett Kimble, Sr. Known to family and friends as “Ben”. Born third of seven children.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marilyn, Barbara Rhodes (sister), Alice Witmer (sister), Beverly Kimble (sister), Mary Lou Patterson (sister), Deborah Standiford (sister), Jeffrey Kimble (brother), and many nieces and nephews.

Ben graduated from Oxford Area High School in June 1963 and went on to college at Potomac State College in Keyser, West Virginia. In February of 1966, Ben was drafted into the US Marine Corps where he served honorably until March 1969. He was stationed at MCAS El Toro, and he served almost 2 years in the Vietnam conflict.

When Ben left the Corps., he went to work for the family business, Kimble Concrete, which he eventually took over. Ben met the love of his life, Marilyn, and married her in 1996. Ben and Marilyn retired in 1998 and moved to Hampstead, NC where he was a member of the Olde Point Golf Club and has lived happily ever since.

Services will be Saturday, August 30, 2025, Visitation at 2pm and Service at 3pm.

Memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society in Ben’s memory.

Marilyn wishes a special Thank You to Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice who cared for Ben in his last days.
