WILMINGTON — Conrad Andrew Nagel, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 73. Born on November 19, 1951, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Conrad lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his career, and his country.
Conrad proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a submariner for four years, displaying courage and commitment. Following his service, he pursued higher education and earned an Associate’s Degree from Wingate College in Wingate, North Carolina.
Professionally, Conrad excelled as an Executive Recruiter in Sales and Marketing, where he was known for his keen insight and unwavering integrity. His colleagues and clients respected him for his ability to connect talented individuals with opportunities that allowed them to thrive.
Outside of his professional achievements, Conrad cherished his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Married to his beloved wife, Laura Parker Nagel, for 48 years, Conrad found immense joy in spending time with his family. He was the proud father of three sons: William Taylor, Brian Andrew, and Timothy Conrad Nagel, and a doting grandfather to his grandson, Connor Nagel.
His love for sports endured throughout his life. A former high school football player, Conrad enjoyed watching football and golf, often sharing these passions with his sons and grandson.
Conrad is preceded in death by his parents, William Taylor and Rita Nagel, and his brother, Sam Nagel. He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura; his sons, William, Brian, and Timothy; his grandson, Connor; his brothers, Paul (Carol) Nagel and John (Betty) Nagel; his sister-in-law, Joyce Nagel; and his mother-in-law, Ellen Wieland.
In honor of Conrad’s wishes, a private family service will be planned. Conrad’s legacy of love, dedication, and integrity will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
