LELAND — Joan Marion Push, born December 19, 1932, in Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, in Leland, North Carolina. At the age of 92, Joan lived a full and vibrant life filled with love, faith, and family.
Joan was one of eight children born to Charles and Mae Stritch Leary, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for those around her. A devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Joan found great joy and peace in her spiritual community. Her deep faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her time shared in communion with her church and family.
She had a passion for sowing and crocheting, arts that reflected her patience and creativity, bringing warmth and beauty into the lives of those she touched. Her creations were not just crafts, but expressions of her love and dedication to those she held dear.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aladar Joseph Push, and her parents. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family: her devoted daughter, Babette Mae Clossick, and her fiancé Pat Dozier of Wilmington; her adored grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Clossick, James Patrick Clossick, and Olivia Catherine Clossick; as well as her four cherished great-grandchildren, Carson, Carter, Colt, and Callum.
