LELAND — Mark Kevin Romandy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Leland, North Carolina. Born on January 31, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he departed this life at the age of 67.
Mark dedicated 33 years of his professional life to Hamilton Beach in Richmond, Virginia, where he excelled as a Senior Technical Designer. His creativity and skill were evident in his innovative designs that have touched many lives. Following his retirement, Mark and his beloved wife, JoAnne, moved to Waterford in Leland, North Carolina, where they enjoyed a fulfilling life together.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mark was a man of many talents and passions. He found joy in boating and freshwater fishing, often spending peaceful days on the water. An accomplished artist, his creativity extended beyond design, capturing the beauty of the world around him through his art. Music was another of Mark’s great loves; he was a talented musician who played the guitar and keyboard with elegance, and his singing brought joy to those fortunate enough to hear it.
Mark was united in marriage to JoAnne at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Cathedral in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, beginning a journey of love and companionship that would define his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Carol Romandy, and his son, Joshua Mark Romandy
Mark leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, JoAnne Elizabeth Romandy; his loving daughter, Jennifer Nicole Hope of Richmond, Virginia; and his grandsons, Gavin Christopher Hope and Aiden Joshua Hope, who brought boundless joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth “Butch” Romandy, and sister-in-law, Deborah; and dog “Angel”. Along with extended family members including newphews, nieces, cousins, sister and brother in laws and many friends and neighbors
Mark will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. His love for life and those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
