WILMINGTON — Kenneth John Bloech, 78, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, NC on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 with his wife and children by his side.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan, his children: Christopher (wife Jennifer), Kevin (wife Courtney) and Lyndsay (husband Kyle) and five grandsons: Sam, Jack (of Wilmington, NC) Logan, Mason and Austin (of Columbus, OH) and his loyal K9 companion, Blu.
Ken was Born in the Bronx, NY on April 8, 1947. He was raised in River Edge, NJ by Frances and John Perkins where he met Susan in high school. With an incredibly strong work ethic and eagerness to provide, Ken found success in the automotive industry with Nissan and Hyundai. Never one to turn down an opportunity, his career took the family across nine states.
No matter how tough a businessman, Ken’s tenacity was always rooted in the love of his family and the desire to provide a life of opportunity for Susan and the kids. In addition to his family, he encouraged and mentored many young professionals through his years in the automotive industry. In 2014, when Ken retired from Hyundai, he and Susan settled in Wilmington, NC.
Ken has always been a fighter, from early on in life, throughout his career and later his battles with cancer. If inclined, a donation can be made in Ken’s memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or Hyundai’s Hope On Wheels.
A Celebration of Life in Ken’s honor will be held later this summer.
