WILMINGTON — Nanci Lynn Joplin was born October 23,1960 in Lagrange, IL. and grew up in Western Springs, Illinois, a near west suburb of Chicago. She attended Grand View elementary school and McClure Junior High, both in Western Springs. Graduated from Lions Township High School in Lagrange 1978. Graduated from Illinois State University in 1982 with a BS in Art.
Nanci worked mostly in the Chiropractic field throughout her adult life, starting in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She moved to Wilmington, NC in 1997 continuing to work in chiropractic care in several clinics until 2020.
She enjoyed bicycling to work and pleasure riding thru the quieter streets of Wilmington. She enjoyed painting even after losing the use of her right arm and becoming adept with her left.
She is predeceased by her parents Betty and John Brierley. She is survived by her sister Sandy Larson and brother Tom Brierley and nephew Scott Hill all of the Chicago area. She is survived by her partner Hap Kimmel of Wilmington, NC.

A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2025 at 2pm at Hope Center, 3403 Winston Blvd., Wilmington, NC 28403.
