WILMINGTON — Bill Dietsche, 89, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina where he relocated from Southwick, Massachusetts with his wife, Kay Dietsche, in March 2020.
Bill was born in 1935 to Marion and Otto Dietsche in Leominster, Massachusetts. He attended the University of New Hampshire, where he met his wife Kay, and earned a degree as a chemical engineer. They went on to have two children, Kristin and Chuck, and lived in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts for many years. There, Bill served as an elected member of the Planning Board and was active in the East Longmeadow United Church of Christ. Bill worked in industrial sales until his retirement from Silverson Mixers in 2001, where he was head of US operations for the British company.
In 2008, Bill moved with Kay to Southwick, Massachusetts to enjoy retirement. They traveled frequently enjoying time with grandchildren Martha, Will, and Julia. Bill was an avid reader and golf enthusiast. He enjoyed playing in senior golf leagues in Massachusetts and North Carolina.
He became a widower in December 2022. He missed Kay very much.
Bill will be missed by his children, grandchildren, golf friends, and caregivers.
