Joseph Lawrence Craven (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Joseph, lovingly known as “Joe” or “Pop-Pop” to many, peacefully moved to eternal life, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the age of 74. Joe was born in Wilmington, NC.

Joe was a very successful small business owner that provided paint and body work services for many decades. He had a passion for restoring antique cars, preferably hot rods and classics, and going to car shows along the east coast. He passionately worked hard for his family, friends, and clients.

Joe preferred a relaxed lifestyle. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and watching old westerns. He often held small gatherings at his pool, grilling out and sharing old stories while listening to beach music. He was also known to have a tremendous heart for stray animals that usually ended up making Joe their owner.

Joe was predeceased by his parents Roy and Betty Craven, in-laws Orvis and Barbara Bordeaux, and his sister Dorothy.

Joe is survived by his wife, Tina; his daughter Christina Loughlin & husband Kurt, with children Chase & Reese; his son Joseph “Joey” Craven with children Trey and Noah; his daughter Britney Buckner & husband Tyler with children Coralyn and Liliana; his brothers and their wives, Edward & Debbie, Allen & Gwen, Larry & Susan, and David & Margaret; and his sister Suzette; as well as many nephews and nieces he adored and many friends who were like family to him.

In honor of Joe, a celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at: 365 Oaks Plantation Rocky Point, NC 28457

Joe’s kindness and infectious smile will be deeply missed and never forgotten. It will remain forever stamped in the hearts of those that knew and loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Joe’s memory may donate to a nearby animal shelter.
