LELAND — Barbara Eleanor “Ellie” Brenner passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025 at her home in Leland at the age of 93.
Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and the last of 11 children, she is in eternal peace with her husband, entire family, and many friends. A beautiful 93 years of life with time in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, and North Carolina, she was involved in her churches, enjoyed volunteering, spending time with family and friends, playing cards and games, and was a devoted prayer warrior!
She is survived by her beloved children, Theresa “Traci” Cimini (Angelo), and Richard Brenner (Theresa); grandchildren: Melaina Pitta (Dan), Vincent Cimini (Erin), Lindsay Cimini (Christian), Kyle Hicks (Rachel), Charlie Brenner, and Sydney Brenner; great-granchildren, Colt and Reed Hicks, Elliana Pitta, and two great grandsons on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lots of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Brenner; her parents, George and Anna Hostovich; siblings, Mary Allegro, George Hostovich, Margaret Bury, John Hostovich, Michael Hostovich, Anna Hostovich, Bertha Matsko, Elizabeth Dumnich, Susanne Loyacona, and Richard Hostovich.
She spent the last six years in North Carolina with a mission and desire to help the poor. Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard (PO Box 76, Wilmington, NC 28402) in Wilmington was near and dear to her heart.
