WILMINGTON — Mary Russell Casey Price, 86, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at her home on February 28, 2025. She was the loving wife of 30 years to the late Ervin Henry Price.
Born on December 20, 1938 in Faison, NC, she was the daughter of the late Russell Sage Casey and Lucy Mae Custer née Matthews.
She worked in many different venues including real estate and retail along with obtaining her associates degree from Cape Fear Community College in paralegal studies. During her lifetime she took pleasure in volunteering with Girl Scouts. She was a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church and volunteered in many outreach programs as well as the New Hanover County Humane Society.
She is survived by her two children, Debra Heinemeier (Bill) of Lima, OH and Donna Shadid (Chuck) of Southport, NC; three grandchildren Philip Heinemeier, Jessy Gilcher (Travis) and Ken Shadid (Alissah); stepchildren Ervin Ray Price, Vicky Garris and Kristi Algeo (Don), step grandchildren Ashley, Samuel, Michael and Christopher, four great grandchildren, and sister Dorothy Cherry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Marvin, Ronnie and Betty, and step-granddaughter Brandy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11am on Wednesday March 5, 2025 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington.
