WILMINGTON — Marian Virginia DiGiacomo, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Born on July 14, 1938, in Scott, NY, she lived a full life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She leaves behind a legacy defined by her love for family and the countless cherished moments she created through her warm hospitality. Marian’s passion for gathering her loved ones was evident in the many family events she meticulously planned, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and embraced by her generous spirit. Known for her culinary talent, she often quipped that she could “feed an army,” a testament to her boundless generosity and care.
Her life was a tapestry woven with laughter, love, and togetherness, where every meal shared became a treasured memory. Marian’s kindness and dedication to her family were at the heart of everything she did, making her home a sanctuary of warmth and joy. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who experienced her love and hospitality. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love endures.
Marian was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard Phillips and Virginia Long Phillips, her cherished daughter Maryann Davis, and her dear brother Leonard Phillips.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband of 61 years, Camillo Joseph DiGiacomo. Marian was the proud mother of five daughters; Maryann Davis (deceased), Annette Vasquez, Cheryl Burns, Nancy Milliken (Jimmy Jenkins), and Tanya Kelley (Duane). Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Justin, Kyle, Tyler, Joe, Mitchell, Matthew, Christina, Andy, Blake, Christopher, and Brandon. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Bryan, Mason, Ben, Ava, Evan, Jackob, Makayla, Caleb, Dominick, Annalena, Dakotah, Sebastian, and Theina. Marian is also survived by her sisters Tammy, Janet, Betty, and Carol, who will miss her dearly.
Her memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.
