CASTLE HAYNE — Millie K. Dodgens, age 73, of Castle Hayne and formerly of Burgaw passed from her earthly life Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 5, 1951 in Burgaw, the daughter of the late John Rowe and Sarah Malpass Rowe.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Sarah Dodgens (Chris); son, Wayne Dodgens (Rachel); grandchildren, Dakota Wehunt and Kiah Dodgens; sister, Carrie Rowe; and many extended family and friends.
Millie received a master’s degree in education and taught in Pender County schools for many years. She was an outstanding teacher and in addition to teaching the school curriculum she taught students many life lessons.
