SUNSET BEACH — Mrs. Margaret Eleanor Miller, age 102, of Sunset Beach, NC formerly of Sandusky, MI, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, following a time of declining health.
Born in the Township of Elmer in Michigan, on November 18, 1922, Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Elisabeth Growth Burger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Louis Miller.
Margaret was actively involved in her church from childhood on, playing the organ in her church, and singing in the choir for many years. She migrated from Sandusky to Detroit to work as an inspector in an ammunitions factory during WW2 where she met her beloved husband. She was a very devoted mother, who often took other neighborhood children under her wing. She loved music, cooking and gardening. She attributed her longevity to taking multiple health supplements and never traveled far without a banana in her purse!
Surviving are four daughters,, Judith Fife and husband Ronald, Elizabeth Hargraves and husband Samuel, Cathleen Pullum, Susan Golinske and husband Michael: five grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Lauren, Rebecca and Thomas. Ten great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Brendin, Gabrielle, Connor, Grace, Ava, Halle, Aiden, Trevor and John David.
Private family services will take place in Hyslop Cemetery, Sandusky, MI. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, to be announced.
