WILMINGTON — Robert (Bob) Bruce Heinisch, age 77, passed away January 31st, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care after an extended illness.
He was born to Robert and Pearl Heinisch on February 25, 1947. Bob attended New Hanover High School his senior year. Then, in 1967, was drafted into the US Army and served, honorably, in Korea. Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree at UNCW in 1975 while working at Laney Tank Lines in Wilmington, NC.
He retired in 2016 as Vice-President of Safety with Eagle Transport Corporation in Rocky Mount, NC.
Robert and Sylvia Tucker married in 1974 and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
He is survived by wife, Sylvia, son, Gabriel (Michelle), daughter, Meredith Huie (Matthew). Grandchildren, Cora Elizabeth Heinisch, Abigail Lynn Heinisch, Emily Grace Huie and Michael Robert Huie. Sisters, Suzanne Colvin (Robert), Paula Paye (Tim), Dorthy Foster (Van), Heidi Anderson (Eddie). Brothers-in-Law, Elton Tucker (Brenda), Hiram Tucker, Tommy Tucker (Diane). Sister-in-Law, Margaret Tucker.
He is preceded in death by Brother-in-law, Kenneth Tucker and Sister-in-Law, Rebecca Tucker.
