ROCKY POINT — James L. Butz, known lovingly as Jimmy, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on November 25, 1950, he spent his final years in Pender County, North Carolina.
Jimmy was a skilled carpenter, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to his work. He took great pride in creating beautiful and lasting structures, leaving a legacy that will be remembered by those who knew him.
He is survived by his two sons, Jamie Butz (Vickie) and Paul Butz (Shari), as well as his cherished grandchildren: Lauren Butz, Madeline Butz, Bradley Butz, and Paul Jr. Butz. He was also predeceased by his parents, Melvin Butz and Sarah Hedrick.
In addition to his immediate family, Jimmy leaves behind a host of extended family, including Hasaan and Tonya Lambe, Octavia Thomas, Shatavia Thomas, Jeffrey and Kelsey Thomas, Serenity Lambe, Hasaan Lambe Jr., Caizleigh Grady, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held on January 25th at 2 PM at 1554 New Sun Drive SE, Bolivia, NC 28422. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor and remember a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
