OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Debbie Jean Berry, born on February 28, 1961, in Corbin, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, on December 21, 2024, at the age of 63.
Debbie was a woman of quiet strength and a devoted spirit. Her journey through life was marked by her selfless dedication to family and her unwavering resilience. She spent her career as a self-employed domestic cleaner, where she found pride and fulfillment in providing comfort and cleanliness to countless homes. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to hard work, Debbie demonstrated the profound impact of service and care in everyday life.
Her interests were simple yet profound. She had a deep appreciation for true crime mysteries, finding intrigue and solace in unraveling the complexities of human nature from the comfort of her home. An avowed homebody, Debbie cherished the warmth and tranquility of her surroundings, finding joy and contentment in life’s simple pleasures.
Debbie’s life was an inspiring testament to love and family. Having moved to Conway, South Carolina, she dedicated her final years to lovingly caring for her sister Sandy until her passing in 2022. Following Sandy’s death, Debbie relocated to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, where she continued to be a source of strength and support to those around her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Erma Blakley, and her dear sister, Sandy. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her surviving family: her devoted sons, Brian Berry of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Steve Berry of Ohio; her cherished brothers, Bill and Mike Blakley; her adored grandson, Chase, and her precious great-granddaughter, Bethany.
Debbie’s faith as a Christian was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with peace and guidance throughout her journey. While no formal services are planned at this time, her remains will be reverently interred alongside her parents in Atlanta at a later date, honoring her wish to be reunited with them.
Debbie Jean Berry leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her life inspire us all to find beauty and grace in the smallest moments and to cherish the bonds that connect us.
