WILMINGTON — Sherry Taher, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sherry lived a vibrant life, residing in Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Wilmington. She worked as a retail associate and secretary, roles in which she was known for her kindness, dedication, and friendly demeanor.
Sherry’s passions included gardening in her backyard, where she found peace among the flowers, and uncovering treasures as an avid thrifting enthusiast. She was also a devoted animal lover, especially of dogs, who held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Al-Taher; daughter-in-law, Melissa Jacobs; grandson, John Jacobs; and brothers, Jody and Tracy Jacobs.
Sherry’s loving spirit, sense of humor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to a local animal shelter or the Alzheimer’s Association in Sherry’s honor.
