WILMINGTON — Rebecca “Becky” Ann Drenner, age 76, passed gently from her earthly life Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

She was born January 3, 1948, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Stanley Joseph Stempkowski and Anna Panchak Stempkowski. In addition to her parents Becky was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hanna.

In her early years Becky was an avid bowler and member of several bowling leagues. This is how she met her husband, Sid. They both bowled in West Virginia and North Carolina throughout the years of which they both had quite an impressive collection of trophies and pins. She enjoyed going to and watching Nascar racing and was an avid football fan especially her beloved Steelers. She loved spending summers at the beach, music, especially Bluegrass, and visiting our beautiful mountains in the fall to watch the leaves.

Becky retired from the State of North Carolina after 30 years in Vocational Rehabilitation and when Sid retired, they found of a love of sailing the seas and went on several cruises over the last few years. She was an avid animal lover and took in many throughout her life who lived long, happy, spoiled lives. Most of all she was a wonderful grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and will be so dearly missed.

Becky is survived by her husband, Sidney Lee Drenner; daughter, Carrie Hanna; son, Eric Drenner (Lora); grandchildren, Lainey, Riley, Kailey, Megan, Morgan, Dylan, Dalton, Cydney, and Hunter; great grandchildren, Owen and Tinsley; many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held, per her request, in Blowing Rock, NC at a later date.
