WILMINGTON — Karl James Coats, age 38, of Wilmington, NC, passed away at Novant Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, on December 23, 2024.
He was born on September 24, 1986, in Wilmington, the son of James Edwin Coats, Jr., of Wilmington, and Pamela Bringedahl of Bradenton, FL.
He worked as a barista/coffee roaster at Vigilant Hope Roasting in Wilmington. He attended Saltbox Church, 1939 Independence Blvd., Wilmington, NC.
Karl is survived by his wife, Hailey Axeen and stepson, Landon, his son Kayne Coats, both his parents, and his sister, Leni Coats, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
