LELAND — Jane “Sue” Scott 64 of Leland, died Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington NC. She was born November 9, 1960.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ovie Scott Jr, her son Ovie Scott III, her father, James Ervin Sr. of Renick WV, her mother Mary Ervin of Winnabow NC and stepfather Marshall Grissom of Winnabow.
Sue is survived by her daughter Melinda Ervin, her brothers James Ervin,Jr. (Teresa) of Tornado WV, John Ervin (Becky) of Rocky Point NC, stepbrother Robert Grissom of Bolivia NC, sisters Jeanette Travis (Eddie) of Lehigh Acres Fla, and Caroline Dove (Rick) of Leland NC, sister-in-law Debra Scott Womack (Dana) of Saint Albans WV and her best friend Debra Rayl of Bolivia NC.
Sue loved her family and leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
