Patricia “Pat” Ann McKoy (Quinn McGowen Funeral Home)

BURGAW — Our beloved Patricia “Pat” Ann McKoy, age 89, stepped into the Glory of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at her home in Burgaw following a long and fruitful life.

She was born September 24, 1935, in Harnett County, the daughter of Junnie Annie Pollard Madren. In addition to her mother Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Elder McKoy; daughter, Cynthia Ellis; and brother, Lester Madren, Jr.

Pat was an extraordinary woman of God whose resounding faith and love for family was unmatched. Her brightly shining light often served as a guide to those around her. She was a great listener, deeply interested in people and found joy in all situations. Those that knew Pat will always remember her passion for growing beautiful flowers, love for reading and learning, creative crafting, working puzzles, cooking for those she loved and serving in a number of community organizations.

Pat had a keen sense of humor and a spectacular intellect that she willingly shared. She was a true example of what it meant to be a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed but we find solace in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing with her Almighty Father.

Pat is survived by her sons, Esmond McKoy and Braxton McKoy (Leanna); daughters, Pamela Crane (Chris), Yvonne Velasco (Patrick); grandchildren, Joseph Holmes, Creighton Brown (Paige), Taylor McKoy, Nicole McKoy, Alexis McKoy (Chris Bailey, Braxton McKoy, Jr. (Lauren), Natalie McKoy, and Jessica Velasco; four great grandchildren; sister, Judy Black (Brent); many extended family members and numerous dear friends.

Celebration of Life will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Mt. Holly Baptist Church with the Rev. Merrell McKoy conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor and memory of Pat may be given to Mt. Holly Baptist Church, 5551 US Hwy 117, Burgaw, NC 28425.
