WILMINGTON — Jimmy Ray Hall, originally from Fayetteville NC, passed away surrounded by his loved ones in Wilmington NC on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at the age of 58.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Joshua Hall, mother, Linda Batton and father, Donnie Hall.
Jimmy was well known in the Fayetteville and Wilmington communities, especially in the automotive industry. If he wasn’t with his family, he always had his hands dirty working on cars. He was known for his spontaneous adventures with family- whether it was a road trip to The Great Smoky Mountains to stay at the family home in Cosby, Tennessee, hopping on a cruise ship, or taking cross-country trips to see the world. What he loved most was spending time with his two grandsons, who he loved so dearly and deeply. You would never see him without one or the other, whether it was taking them fishing or going to McDonald’s every morning for breakfast. Jimmy was a family man and would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Wanda Hall; his oldest son, Justin Ray Hall (wife Heather Hall); his youngest son, Tyler Steven Hall (wife Hannah Hall); his niece who he loved like a daughter, Clarissa Hall (Jonathan Nash); grandsons, Brantley Hall and Rhett Hall; siblings, Kenny Hall of Riegelwood NC, Monkey Wade (Bill) of Killingly CT, Donnie Hall of Terre Haute IN, and Leon Hall (Emily) of Wilmington NC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.
Jimmy was a huge presence in many people’s lives and his legacy will be carried on through the love he left behind. He will be forever remembered and always missed.
