WILMINGTON — William L. Norrish, Jr, passed away on August 28, 2024, in Wilmington, NC, after a period of declining health and shortly after his 82nd birthday.
Bill was born on August 25, 1942, to Virgina and William L. Norrish. He grew up in Watertown, MA before moving with his family to Bernardston, MA. He lived many years in Greenfield and Colrain, MA before moving to Cape Cod in 1989 with his wife of 33 years, Dorothy Norrish. In 2020, they moved to North Carolina.
He was a Senior Right of Way Agent with MassDOT for most of his career before starting a real estate appraisal business, Appraisal Associates. He was a car buff and diehard Boston sports fan who loved the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. Enjoying a good meal with his family and friends was one of his favorite things.
He is pre-deceased by his wife Dottie Norrish and survived by a son William Norrish (Heather) of Groton, MA, his daughter Beth Hicks (Vincent) of Hampstead, NC, his stepson Jeffrey Charron of Greenfield, MA and stepdaughter Suzie Hale (Mark) of Natick, MA. He also leaves 7 grandchildren – Hunter Hicks, Weston Hicks, Kate Norrish, Alexandra Campos (Gui), Lindsey Charron, Jake Hale, Sawyer Hale and great grandson Cole Hale. He is also survived by his brothers John and Paul Norrish of Milton, NH.
A celebration of life will be held later.
